Assist in preparing Revit models as well as preparation of Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document sets, including information such as electrical, rigging, seating, and theater equipment sketches and drawings. Assist in creation and maintenance of custom Revit families and detail libraries. Fulfill the duties of a drafter as needed. Additionally, help create documents such as space programs and adjacency diagrams.
Hang, focus, and strike lights for ten shows a year in the three spaces used by the department. Act as head electrician in one space as well as when supervisor is elsewhere. Use & maintain incandescent and LED fixtures as well as DMX, XLR, and Twistlock cable. Troubleshoot and replace broken lighting, video, and audio equipment. Use safe electrical practices and work with dimmer / relay systems. Work at height from Genie lifts, scissor lifts, ladders, and catwalks.
Work live audio events at a variety of venues across campus, as well as various smaller events such as faculty panels and president's dinners. Work extensively with wired and wireless microphones, digital mixers, and powered speakers. EQ and mix shows as well as speaker events in many different spaces.
Research, justify, and purchase sound and lighting equipment for the student organization. As a member-at-large, assist in closet organizing, road case packing, and equipment maintenance. Coordinate, design, operate, and run load-ins & load-outs for events that SLSA produces.
Plan lights & sound for all O!Circus shows. Design and operate lights for shows, lead load-ins & load-outs, and train crew members on the job. Source and set up all speakers & audio equipment.
As part of the Concert Sound crew, independently run a weekly maintenance check of the mixer, speakers, projector, livestream setup, mics and cables, and mic stands in the Cat in the Cream Coffeehouse.
Participate in all shops and on all shows where needed. Work on independent carpentry and electrics projects. Report to TD, PM, SM, LD, SD, and Director as needed. Operate shows (spot, light board, A1, A2) as needed.
