Andrew McCracken is a fourth-year theater technology student at Oberlin College and Conservatory in Oberlin, Ohio. He is a Theater and French double major, and has experience in lighting, sound, scenic, and video design, stage electrics, theatre consulting, live lighting and audio, scenic construction, and technical direction.
Andrew's primary focus is lighting and electrics. Having seven lighting design credits to his name, as well as designing and operating many smaller productions, Andrew focuses on getting the most spectacle out of the available fixtures.
Andrew also has experience in theatre consulting. After winning first place in the ASTC/USITT Venue Renovation challenge, he spent the summer interning at Stages Consultants, using Revit to create design and construction documents.
Andrew has held and continues to hold many electrics positions. He is as comfortable behind a tech table as he is on a genie, and his stage electrics resume includes positions at all levels working in countless different spaces.
When he's not doing live events, Andrew takes advantage of the liberal arts environment of Oberlin. You can find him playing drums or bass with his friends, eating and working in a dining cooperative, or taking classes across departments.
